Our Story
The history of Jones & Company Wine Merchants began as Banville & Jones Wine Co., with Tina Jones and her sister opening a small wine shop in south Winnipeg. In the first year of business her sister decided to pursue wine importing and Tina proceeded as the sole proprietor. The company has grown as a destination wine retailer and world-class wine education centre with an award-winning magazine.
Tina’s success has been built on a clear mission: to inspire a great wine culture by connecting wine lovers with real people who make great wine.
Tina inherited a strong entrepreneurial spirit from her late father Pierluigi Tolani, who immigrated from Italy and built the largest privately held transport company in Canada. Pierluigi inspired his daughter Tina to have the vision to build great teams, work hard, and continually reach for excellence.

These are people with understanding, who have knowledge and education behind them. These are people who care about our customers. The company includes six qualified Sommeliers, three holders of the WSET Diploma, staff with numerous advanced wine credentials, and together a team 100% passionate about wine, who love to talk about it with you.
Our Store
Our retail store offers 1,500 wines from around the world, most of which are labels that we have sourced exclusively and are not available at the provincial liquor board or other private wine stores. We source and curate specialty wine lists for our restaurant customers and wines for private collectors. Our offerings include iconic, special experiences for wine lovers, including Saxum, Moone-Tsai and Sine Qua Non from California; Champagnes such as Krug and Roses de Jeanne; and Italians Soldera and Quintarelli, to name only a few.
